A new survey has been issued and the purpose is to attain more information from residents about rental, repairs and maintenance. The information you provide will assist us to develop a policy that will show a true reflection of the needs and aspirations of Mura Badulgal.

Please note that housing is still managed by TSIRC. Mura Badulgal is in the process of applying. Should you have any housing concerns please direct to TSIRC.

Badu Island

In August a two day meeting was held on Badu Island to workshop local land issues. There was a great attendance with families travelling from as far as Brisbane, Cairns and Thursday Island. It was really positive to see such a high interest from everyone.

The Board acknowledges that some issues were not resolved and part of the reason a follow up workshop will take place. A date has not yet been confirmed at this stage.

A public notice has been issued to invite all Badulgal People to attend a meeting to discuss the Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA). The purpose is to obtain consent for the Badu Island DOGIT transfer.
