Recently Governance training took place on Badu Island and the training was a huge success and well attended by members, traditional owners, Council of Elders and the Directors of Mura Badulgal (TSI) Corporation.
The training delivered over the 2 days was an Introduction into Corporate Governance and it was delivered by the Registrar Mr Anthony Bevan and Assistant Manager, Russell Styche from the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations. Luke Hocky from TSRA also provided support that week to the PBC.
Some of the units covered included corporate governance, understanding corporate structure, the rule book, financial management, making decisions for the corporation, meetings and planning.
Following this workshop the Directors and Council of Elders also met to workshop the rule book. A general meeting will take place on Badu on 16 October 2014 to discuss the proposed resolutions from this workshop.
